How do I create an account with Certemy for IPGGC?
1. Click on the application you would like to start, you will then be taken to Certemy’s homepage where you can create a new account.
2. Use the Certemy login link to open up the Certemy page. Here you can create an account or sign into an existing account.
My password or username for Certemy doesn’t work.
- If you have multiple accounts, make sure you are using the correlating email/passwords for each account
- To reset your password, click ‘forgot password’ on the Certemy website
- To reset your username, email support@certemy.com
I’ve entered everything in Certemy and it still says “Pending Verification”.
- Please make sure you have submitted everything necessary for the application to be processed. IPGGC will not receive the notification to process a review unless everything is correctly submitted. When viewing your application, double-check that all sections are green.
- If colleague/BACC submissions are still pending, make sure they actually complete the submission. Clicking ‘accept’ is not sufficient.
- If you still have problems, you will need to contact Certemy support at support@certemy.com.
I can’t seem to upload my CEs in Certemy.
- When uploading or downloading from Certemy, make sure you are using a Chrome browser
- The file you are uploading must be 5MB or less
- Submit individual CEs instead of multiple at once
- Use PDF file format whenever possible
My clinical supervisor, colleagues and BACC are not getting my email request in Certemy to complete the information.
- Double check the submitted email. It might be misspelled or missing letters/punctuation
- Make sure those receiving the emails have checked their junk/spam folder
- Ask them if they have multiple Certemy accounts. If so, they may be looking in the wrong account for the email
Certifications
Do I need to transfer my ICGC-I or ICGC-II to the new IGRS?
ICGC-I and ICGC-II are and will still be available certifications for licensed counselors working in the field.
We are working to transition those with ICGC-I & II who aren’t counselors by education and/or licensure, but use their lived experience and work in the Peer Support space to the IGRS or BARA equivalent.
Now that the ICOGS and CGT are retired, what does that mean for my certification?
Those with the certification will keep it as long as it is active and not expired, but no new ones will be issued after December 31, 2024.
Why did my training get rejected?
Training for IPGGC certifications must be through IPGGC-approved training programs. Many approved trainings are available under the Certified Training page on this website.
Please look for trainings that promote being IPGGC-approved.
Can my years of experience count for direct application hours?
Only hours after completing the training count as direct application hours. You are required to apply your knowledge from the training. Please discuss more with your BACC or BARA.
Why can't I locate the forms on your website for certification/recertification?
IPGGC no longer uses any paper forms for recertification. Everything is done through our online certification process, Certemy.
Certificates
My application is complete. When can I expect to receive my certificate?
Once you have received confirmation your application was completed, your certificate will then appear in your ‘digital wallet’ in your Certemy account.
I never received my Certificate in the mail.
Certificates are no longer mailed. You will be able to view and download your certificate from your ‘digital wallet’ in your Certemy account.
Examinations
I didn't pass the exam, how can I sign up for it again?
Please send an email to certification@ipggc.org for more information.
I can't find the exam on the Prometric site.
You can’t register for the exam from the Prometric website.
You will need to complete the steps in Certemy and pay for the exam, and once reviewed by IPGGC a link will be sent.
How do I sign-up/schedule for the gambling counselor exam? How do I set up a time and date for the exam?
There are step by step instructions on how to schedule for the exam in IPGGC’s handbook. You can view this handbook on the ‘Examination’ page of our website.
Counselor Directory
I don’t appear in the Counselor Directory.
- Check your Certemy account that you have allowed IPGGC permission to show your information in the directory
- Complete any missing contact information in your Certemy account. Individuals who do not have contact information completed in their account, will not be shown in the directory
Please change my information in the Counselor Directory.
IPGGC cannot update information in the directory, you will have to update your information in your professional Certemy account. The new updates will be shown with the next directory change.
