The goal of this partnership is to collaborate with mental health professionals so they can become certified in responsible gambling/gaming and pathological gambling. The initiative is designed to reach various Latin American countries where Spanish is the predominant language.

Facilitating this partnership with the International Problem Gambling and Gaming Certification Organization is Mariela Huenchumilla, who has over 16 years of experience in responsible gaming. Mariela is currently the Corporate Manager of Responsible Gaming for Dreams Latam and has been in this role for over 10 years. She earned a Degree in Social Work from Universidad Mayor.

Mariela has moderated and organized various meetings of specialists in Responsible Gaming and Pathological Gambling in Chile and abroad, including Spain, the United States, and Argentina. Mariela has served in various leadership roles within Latam, including as the Vice President of the Responsible Gaming Corporation in Chile and as a Member of the Advisory Council of the Chilean Casino Superintendency. She was also a founding member of the International Alliance for Responsible Gaming and is an International Certified Gambling Counselor (ICGC-II) with the IPGGC and a specialist in Pathological Gambling and Gambling Programs with Conjugar in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Mariela Huenchumilla con más de 16 años de experiencia en temas de juego responsable, se incorpora a trabajar con International problem gambling and gaming certificación organization. La idea de esta alianza de trabajo, es poder colaborar con profesionales de las áreas de salud mental, para que se puedan certificar en materias de juego responsable y juego patológico. Las acciones que se realizarán, están pensadas para que lleguen a distintos países de América Latina donde predomina el español. 

Mariela en la actualidad es Gerente Corporativa de Juego Responsable Dreams Latam, desde hace más de 10 años. Mariela es licenciada en Trabajo Social de la Universidad Mayor. Ella es moderadora y organizadora de diversos encuentros de especialistas en materia de Juego Responsable y Juego Patológico tanto en Chile, como en otros países. incluyendo España, Estados Unidos, y Argentina. Mariela a estado en varios posiciones de alta capacidad en el campo incluyendo el vice presidenta passado de la Corporación de Juego Responsable en Chile, entidad de la que presidió durante 8 años. Y ambiendo fue un miembro del Consejo Consultivo de la Superintendencia de Casinos de Juego de Chile y miembro fundador de la Alianza Internacional por el Juego Responsable. 

Mariela tiene su certificacion en: International Certified Gambling Counselor (ICGC-II) y es un especialista en Juego Patológico y Programas de Juegos de Azar (Conjugar, Buenos Aires).

The partnership between IPGGC and SFO includes:

• SFO will help people become certified in accordance with the IPGGC Certifications (ICGC and IGDC)
• IPGGC will equip SFO with all the tools and training necessary so SFO can offer training to their target audience locally and throughout the Asia-Pacific Region
• SFO in the Philippines will be IPGGC’s local representatives, their voice, ears, and presence
• SFO will advocate for all the initiatives of IPGGC which are relevant and aligned with SFO’s mission
